The University Galleries Welcomes New Director: Véronique Côté

Véronique Côté is a Non-Profit Management Professional with years of experience as a Curator, College Professor, and Events Coordinator. Côté holds a Master's of Art in Museum Studies from Harvard University with a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management, a Master's of Fine Arts in Photography from SUNY Buffalo, a Bachelor's of Interdisciplinary Arts & Design from the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi, as well as a Diploma in Science, Literature, and Arts from the College de Jonquiere.


"I believe that art has to make people reflect on themselves and their society. With a strong commitment to cross-disciplinary approaches as an artist, curator and educator, my interest lies in inclusive practices. Embracing diversity of opinion and culture, I seek conceptually strong work with an energizing will for change and exceptional craftsmanship."


Previously, she was the Executive Director & Chief Curator at the Center for Exploratory & Perceptual Arts (CEPA) in Western New York. She also was the first program coordinator for the Museum Management Leadership Program at Pérez Art Museum Miami. With a passion for activism, when she does not work on fostering the next generation of museum professionals, she advocates for environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and political engagement.
