HIPAA AND PRIVACY AT FAU

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is committed to providing quality health care, which includes respecting patients’ and clinical research subjects’ rights to maintain the privacy or confidentiality of their health information.  FAU’s commitment includes ensuring appropriate security of protected health information.  The standards for protecting patient health information and securing electronic protected health information are contained in federal laws known as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.  This website provides information and guidance on the policies, procedures and forms related to HIPAA compliance at FAU.
